Curve In The Road
When life throws an unexpected curve in the road, there is hope.

By the time you are an adult, most of us know that life can throw a curve at anytime. Something you never saw coming changes your life drastically, and now you find yourself adjusting to a “new normal” that you never ever wanted. Or perhaps you’ve lived with something since childhood and are desperate to find hope and a way out.
My family was hit “head-on” when another driver crossed the line and hit us at about 70 mph. We were all critically injured and had several complicated surgeries. I have sat at both our sons’ bedsides in the pediatric ICU. One of our sons was in a coma and in the ICU for 3 weeks. Our other son was in the ICU and hospital for 15 days, with a broken back and having two major surgeries. We spent 29 days in the hospital as a family and have had years of rehab and therapy and unexpected medical complications. We know how a curve in the road changes your life.
This website is designed to be both a resource center and a source of inspiration and hope for those who need it. Resources and information will be added continually as they become available. You will find Scriptures related to trauma and healing, and a blog with hopeful inspiration. Our book, “Impact: One Family’s Journey Through Trauma” is also available for purchase if you would like to read our story. We are still on our journey as God continues to heal us in every way. God has brought through the darkest days of our lives, and we have learned there is hope even in the darkest places.
We gratefully acknowledge all the people who have contributed to the creation of this website, especially Karen Robertson, who helped design this website.

Impact: One Family's Journey Through Trauma
Jennifer Reichle
Our family of four was impacted by a "head on" collision with another car In June of 2016. I was driving and saw the car cross the line and head right into us. I had a broken neck and a broken wrist. My husband blacked out and had internal bleeding and injured his leg. Our eldest son had very critical injuries to his brain and skull, and our younger son had a broken back and emergency surgery where his seat belt had ruptured his small intestine, along with another surgery 2 months later to lower his kidney which was up in his chest. I sat at both my sons' bedsides while they were in the ICU for a total of 29 days in the hospital. It has been a long road of recovery for our family but one where we have found hope.

Impact
January 15, 2019
On June 25, 2016, Jennifer Reichle and her husband, Philip, and their two sons, Caleb and Nathaniel, were hit head on by a car traveling 70 MPH when the driver crossed over into their lane. After the first impact, the other car hit a second time when it fishtailed, slamming into Jennifer, who was driving, and Caleb, sitting behind her. Both her neck and her right arm were broken. She called out for her two sons, and only one answered. In the pages of this book, told from a mother's heart, read how Jennifer and her family had to depend on God with critical injuries, surgeries, and separation from one another. With no family nearby, they had to trust God to meet every need. The trauma was very real, and each one of them experienced that God will never leave us nor forsake us. Like a palm tree, which takes a heavy beating in a storm, but in the end is still standing, Jennifer has seen the faithfulness of God to sustain her and her family through these traumatic events.
